How To Prepare For Chin Lipo

Discontinue taking blood-thinning medications and supplements, including aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, turmeric, and Ginkgo biloba.
Stop smoking several weeks prior to the procedure date.
Ask a friend or family member to drive them home from the surgery.

How Is Chin Liposuction Done?

Chin liposuction is performed with local anesthesia on an out-patient basis. Patients have the option of receiving chin liposuction under general anesthesia, but this will also raise procedure pricing and extend patient recovery times. Patients have the option of optimizing their chin liposuction with power-assisted liposuction, SmartLipo, or VASER Liposuction technologies.

In order to perform liposuction, Dr. Korman will first introduce tumescent fluid into the treatment site. Tumescent fluid is a customizable solution of saline, epinephrine, and lidocaine. Tumescent fluid causes the fat cells to swell up, making them easier to break down and extract. The fluid additionally constricts blood vessels to reduce post-procedure bruising and swelling. Once the tumescent fluid has taken effect, Dr. Korman will eliminate the fat and contour the chin and jawline with the chosen liposuction method. Procedure incisions are very small and well-hidden under the jaw and/or behind the ears.

Power-Assisted Liposuction

Power-Assisted Liposuction is a traditional liposuction method that extracts fat from the body using a vibrating cannula.
