A Tummy Tuck procedure begins with the use of general anesthesia. Dr. Korman will then create an incision, which is as close to your pubic area as possible, so that any scarring is less visible when wearing underwear or bathing suits. Once the incision has been made, any excessive skin and tissue will be removed, and the abdominal muscles will be tightened. After completing the procedure, Dr. Korman will close the incision and apply a compression garment to your waist, which is worn to apply direct pressure, and give you added protection to your stomach as it heals. A drainage tube may also be used, depending on your particular case, to allow for proper draining of bodily fluids as you heal. There is also another option known as a Mini-Tummy Tuck, which produces much less scarring and is used for smaller areas of treatment.

After about a month to six weeks, you will feel back to normal and can resume your daily activities. It is a good idea to relax and take it easy for the first two weeks to speed your healing and prevent any complications. A Tummy Tuck can be a great way to change your body and enhance your appearance.
